BIOGRAPHY
John Paul Cusack was born on June 28, 1966 in
Evanston,
Illinois.
Like his siblings, he attended the
Piven Theatre Workshop while going to elementary school. At the age of 12, he had already been in several stage productions and had done commercial voiceovers. He made his film debut at the age of 17 in the 1983 movie Class.
In 1988, he founded The New Criminals, a Chicago-based theatre company, to promote political and avante-garde stage work. He and his high school friends, D.V. DeVincentis and Steve Pink formed New Crime Productions, a sister company for film. Their first production was 1997's Grosse Pointe Blank. (In addition to co-writing the screenplay, he starred in the movie as hitman Martin Blank.)
You will see him acting along side many members of his family. He and Joan have acted together in many movies together (Say Anything, Grosse Pointe Blank, High Fidelity, etc.). You can also see his father, Dick Cusack, in High Fidelity during the funeral scene.
John prefers to remain out of the Hollywood gossip mill. His ultimate goal is to be "involved in a great piece of art".
